The Food and Beverages Association of Ghana says it supports the government's decision to stop certain goods from being transported into the country by land.
FABAG feels this new rule can help the government collect more money.
It can also help stop people from bringing in goods without paying taxes, also known as smuggling.
The Association issued a statement on March 12, 2026, about this decision.
FABAG specifically commended the Ministry of Finance and the Finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson.
They recognized the ministry for putting this new rule in place for selected goods.
