Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson has ordered the Customs Technical Services Bureau to be recentralised. This action is a new measure to strengthen border controls.

The minister stated that this move will help stop revenue leakages. It is intended to ensure that the government collects all the money it is owed.

The directive aims to create a central hub for customs valuation. This means all decisions about the value of goods will be made in one place.

Improved intelligence sharing is another goal. This will help different parts of the Ghana Revenue Authority work together better.

Dr. Forson explained that this recentralisation is designed to make operations more efficient. It should also increase accountability within the bureau.

The move is expected to lead to better monitoring of imported and exported goods.

This is part of broader efforts to improve tax collection and management in the country.

The Ghana Revenue Authority will implement the minister's directive.
