Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson has directed that the Customs Technical Services Bureau be brought back under one central management.

This move is intended to strengthen how the country's borders are monitored.

The main goal is to prevent money that should be collected from disappearing.

Dr. Forson stated this will create a single location for customs to assess the value of goods.

It will also help the Ghana Revenue Authority share information better.

This aims to improve efficiency and close gaps that allow revenue leakages.

The Finance Ministry believes this recentralisation will lead to better collection of taxes and duties.

This decision is part of wider efforts to improve the nation's financial management.
