A former Finance Minister under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration has been sentenced to four years imprisonment for his involvement in the ill-fated Quality Grain rice project. The project's failure resulted in a significant financial loss to Ghana, estimated at approximately $20 million.
The collapse of the Quality Grain project, which was reportedly led by Juliet Cotton, has been attributed to poor oversight and weak due diligence. Investigations revealed widespread mismanagement that ultimately led to the project's demise and the subsequent legal action against key figures.
