Dr. Kwabena Bomfeh, a lecturer at the University of Professional Studies, Accra and CEO of CenCES, has voiced concerns about the Attorney-General's conduct.
He told GBC Ghana Online that the Attorney-General has displayed double standards concerning the Office of the Special Prosecutor OSP.
Dr. Bomfeh stated that the Attorney-General’s current stance on the OSP’s legitimacy appears inconsistent with previous positions.
This inconsistency, according to Dr. Bomfeh, raises questions about the Attorney-General’s commitment to the OSP’s mandate and operational independence.
The OSP is an independent body established to investigate and prosecute corruption and corruption-related offenses.
Dr. Bomfeh’s comments highlight a debate around the current administration’s approach to anti-corruption institutions.
He believes such shifts in attitude can undermine public trust in the OSP’s work.
This situation involves the Attorney-General and the Office of the Special Prosecutor.
