The Bank of Ghana has issued a directive to Mobile Money Fintech Limited (MMFL) to immediately suspend the planned implementation of a 0.75 percent fee on direct wallet-to-bank transfers. This move comes as the central bank seeks to conduct further reviews into the proposed charges.
The fee, which was slated to commence on June 1, 2026, has now been put on hold indefinitely. The Bank of Ghana's intervention aims to ensure a thorough evaluation of the implications of such charges on mobile money users and the broader financial ecosystem in Ghana.
