A group called the Center for Public Opinion and Awareness has asked the government to end the practice of charging money for job applications to security services.
This request was made in a public statement by the group.
For years, people wanting to join agencies such as the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Armed Forces have had to pay a fee just to submit their applications.
The Center for Public Opinion and Awareness stated that this fee makes it harder for many young Ghanaians to pursue careers in these important national services.
The group believes that the government should cover the costs associated with processing these applications.
They also pointed out that other countries do not charge their citizens to apply for jobs in their security forces.
The Center for Public Opinion and Awareness hopes this change will make it easier for all qualified Ghanaians to apply.
