A call has been made to abolish application fees for joining security services in Ghana. The Center for Public Opinion and Awareness, also known as CenPOA, has issued a statement on this matter.

The organisation believes that applicants seeking to join agencies such as the Ghana Police Service and others should not have to pay to apply.

CenPOA's statement, released today, urges the government to review and end this practice.

The group feels this system could be a barrier for qualified individuals wanting to serve the nation. Further details on the reasoning behind this call were highlighted in the press release.
