National Security operatives have arrested two people. They were caught engaging in illegal mining activities.

The arrests happened at Adansi Asokwa in the Ashanti Region. The mining site was located very close to a project for an Agenda 111 hospital.

One of the arrested individuals is the owner of the illegal mining site.

Authorities are investigating the matter further.

Illegal mining, often called galamsey, is a serious environmental problem in Ghana.

It pollutes water sources and destroys farmlands.

The government has been working to stop these activities, especially near important projects.
