The Volta Regional Police Command has arrested two individuals for mining gold illegally. The arrests happened in the Ellembelle District.
Officers found the suspects with mining equipment at the site. They also discovered a quantity of gold ore with them.
The Ghana Police Service stated that the suspects were apprehended while engaged in the illegal activity.
The police are continuing their investigations into the matter.
