Police in the Ashanti South Region have shot and killed two individuals suspected to be armed robbers. The incident occurred during police operations along the Obuasi-Dunkwa Highway.

The Ghana Police Service stated that these two were part of a group of robbers believed to be active in the area. Further arrests were made during the same operation.

Authorities also seized a Toyota Saloon car associated with the suspects. Guns and other munitions were recovered as part of the police action.

The Regional Commander, DCOP Joseph Hammond Nyaabah, provided this information to the media on March 10, 2026. The briefing took place in Bekwai.

This operation is part of ongoing efforts by the Ghana Police Service to combat armed robbery on key routes.

The recovered items are expected to be used as evidence.
