Police in the Ashanti South Region have arrested three people. They are suspected of being involved in the shooting death of the Kusasi Chief of Kumasi. The incident took place in Asowase.

The Ashanti South Regional Police Commander, DCOP Joseph Nyaaba, spoke about the arrests. He told reporters on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, that the suspects are Jamil Usman and two others. Usman is also known by the street names Babamu and an unstated alias.

The police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the chief's death. Further details are expected as the investigation proceeds.
