The Ghana Police Service has detained a 34 year old man in connection with the death of his business partner in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality. According to a report by 3News the incident came to light on Wednesday night after the discovery of the deceased person in a shallow grave located within the Western Region.

Police investigators according to Citi Newsroom accounts were led to the site where the remains were recovered for further forensic examination. Preliminary reports from the Ghana Police Service indicate that the suspect and the deceased were involved in a joint business venture prior to the disappearance of the victim.

The Daily Graphic reports that official sources have not yet released the names of the suspect or the victim pending notification of family members. Investigators are currently working to establish the motive behind the killing and determine the exact timeline of events leading to the burial according to police statements.

While 3News reports that the suspect has confessed to certain actions during interrogation the Ghana Police Service has not yet issued a formal confirmation of a confession. The suspect remains in police custody assisting with inquiries as the prosecution prepares to present the case before a court in Tarkwa.
