The Northern Regional Police Command has initiated an extensive search for four armed men following a violent robbery at a fuel station in Tamale on Friday evening. According to a report by 3News, the suspects arrived at the scene on motorcycles and used firearms to intimidate staff and customers before demanding access to the safe.

A statement from the Ghana Police Service indicates that the suspects successfully made away with a sum of money which remains undisclosed at this time though no fatalities were reported during the encounter. Citi Newsroom reports that investigators have since cordoned off the area to collect forensic evidence and are currently interviewing eyewitnesses who were present during the raid.

Local authorities are also examining closed circuit television footage from the station and neighboring businesses to track the movement of the getaway motorcycles. Graphic Online notes that security patrols have been intensified across the Tamale metropolis to prevent similar incidents and reassure the public of their safety during the ongoing investigation.

The police have not yet released the identities of the suspects but are urging members of the public to provide any relevant information that could lead to an arrest. Officials from the Northern Regional Police Command stated that all leads are being pursued and they remain committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice as the manhunt continues into its third day.
