The Ghana Police Service issued a statement confirming that an intelligence led operation resulted in the deaths of two suspected armed robbers. According to the official police report the encounter took place at a hideout in the Bono East Region where the suspects were reportedly planning further criminal activities.

Modern Ghana reports that the specialized intelligence units tracked the suspects to their location after a series of investigations into recent robberies within the region. The police account states that the suspects opened fire on the officers upon their arrival which led to an immediate exchange of gunfire.
