The Ghana Police Service has arrested a man described as a notorious armed robber in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region.
The arrest followed an intelligence-led operation conducted by the police.
During the operation, police officers recovered two AK-47 rifles from the suspect.
The serial numbers on both rifles had been removed. Other weapons were also seized.
A police statement confirmed the successful operation and the recovery of illegal firearms.
The suspect is currently in police custody.
Further investigations are underway to determine the full extent of his alleged criminal activities.
The police continue to work to ensure public safety and remove illegal weapons from circulation.
