Officers from the Central Regional Police Command have cordoned off sections of Gomoa Buduburam following a daylight shooting incident linked to a protracted land dispute. Onlookers reported that a group of unidentified armed men arrived at the site and began discharging weapons indiscriminately as residents fled for safety.

Three individuals sustained severe injuries during the encounter and were immediately transported to a nearby medical facility for emergency treatment. Hospital officials have confirmed that the victims are currently in stable but critical condition while undergoing surgery to remove suspected various projectiles.

Early reports suggest the violence erupted when a group of workers attempted to develop a contested piece of land within the community. Alleged land guards reportedly intervened to halt the construction work which led to a physical altercation before firearms were introduced into the situation.

The police have increased their presence in the township to prevent further retaliatory attacks between the feuding parties. Investigators are currently gathering forensic evidence from the scene and interviewing eyewitnesses to establish a clearer timeline of the events that led to the discharge of weapons.

No arrests have been made at this stage of the investigation. The police administration has issued a public appeal for anyone with credible information regarding the whereabouts of the suspects to contact the nearest station or utilize the emergency crime lines provided by the state.

The Ghana Police Service maintains that it will handle the matter with strict adherence to the law and has cautioned residents against taking matters into their own hands. Security experts have highlighted the growing concern over land related violence in the region and urged for swifter judicial resolutions to ownership conflicts.
