Thirty-six people have been arrested by the Ghana Police Service. They are suspected of being involved in the death of a police officer.
The officer, General Constable Redeemer Owusu, was attacked by a mob in Gindabour. This happened in the Sawla District of the Savannah Region.
The incident occurred on September 16. The officer and his colleagues were on highway patrol duties. They were on the Gindabour-Kenkyen community road.
A police statement confirmed the arrests on Thursday, September 17, 2026. The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
The suspects are being held as part of the ongoing investigation into the officer's death.
