A recent attack in Gbeniyiri has caused over 250 Fulani people to flee their homes in the Sawla district. The assaults targeted Fulbe communities in the area.

The violence resulted in the deaths of five individuals. Three other people suffered serious injuries and are in critical condition.

Zakaria Mahama, the Savannah Regional Director of NADMO, confirmed the displacement. He stated that the National Disaster Management Organisation is providing assistance.

Relief items have been distributed to support the displaced people. These items aim to meet immediate needs following the attack.

The exact number of people displaced is over 250. The area affected includes Gbeniyiri and other nearby Fulbe communities in the Sawla District.

The cause of the attack and the perpetrators are under investigation by authorities.
