Moses Ahiakpornu, the Director of Engineering and Mechanicals at NADMO, was allegedly assaulted by Okada riders. He was attending his late father's funeral in Kpedome near Xevi.
The incident happened on Saturday. Mr. Ahiakpornu had gone out to buy medicine for his sick son. He was reportedly accosted by the riders on his way.
Sources say his wife and children were also subjected to the alleged attack. Mr. Ahiakpornu sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital.
The exact reasons for the alleged assault are not immediately clear. The Ghana Police Service is investigating the matter.
This incident occurred in the Akatsi North District in the Volta Region.
