A 35-year-old man has been arrested by the Ghana Police Service. The arrest follows an alleged assault on an official from the Electricity Company of Ghana ECG. The incident happened in the Lapaz section of Accra.

The ECG official was carrying out a disconnection exercise. This was because the user had not paid their electricity bills. The alleged assault took place during this procedure.

Police said the suspect resisted the disconnection of his power supply. He then allegedly attacked the ECG worker. The name of the suspect has not been released.

The ECG has been conducting various revenue mobilization exercises across the country. This includes disconnecting customers with outstanding debts.
