The Ashanti Regional Police Command has launched a manhunt for two unidentified gunmen involved in a fatal shooting incident in the Santasi suburb of Kumasi. A Citi Newsroom report states that the attackers targeted a mobile money agent during his operations on a Monday evening. The victim sustained fatal gunshot wounds during the confrontation and was later pronounced dead after being transported for medical attention.

According to a GhanaWeb report on the incident, the suspects arrived on a motorcycle and approached the mobile money container under the guise of being customers. Witnesses told authorities that the assailants demanded money and fired their weapons when the agent attempted to resist the robbery. The suspects reportedly fled the scene before local residents or security personnel could intervene.

A statement from the Ghana Police Service confirmed that crime scene investigators have processed the location at Santasi. Evidence gathered at the scene includes spent shells and witness statements that are being used to develop a profile of the suspects. The police have officially categorized the incident as a targeted robbery and murder case while promising to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Daily Graphic reports indicate that the deceased was a well known businessman in the community who had operated his mobile money stand for several years. Local residents expressed concern over the rising frequency of attacks on mobile money vendors in the region. The Ashanti Regional Police Command has urged members of the public to provide any information that might lead to the arrest of the fugitives.
