The Ghana Police Service has initiated an intensive manhunt for four armed suspects following a fatal shooting incident in Kasoa within the Awutu Senya East Municipality early Tuesday morning. According to a report by Starr FM the victims were at their residence when the armed group forcibly entered the premises and demanded valuables before firing upon a male resident.
A report from Citi Newsroom indicates that the deceased was a forty five year old man who lived in the area known as Opeikuma. The suspects allegedly fled the scene after the shooting and took away an unspecified amount of money and personal electronics. Medical personnel at the Kasoa Mother and Child Hospital confirmed the death upon the arrival of the victim at the facility according to witnesses cited by UTV Ghana.
Police investigators visited the crime scene to collect forensic evidence and recorded statements from neighbors who described hearing multiple gunshots before daybreak. The Kasoa Divisional Police Command has deployed additional patrols to the neighborhood to reassure the public while the investigation continues.
