A joint operation by the Ghana Police Service resulted in the deaths of three suspected armed robbers following a violent confrontation in Kasoa. The suspects reportedly opened fire on the responding officers who then returned fire in self defense.
A report from Modern Ghana indicates that the encounter occurred during the late hours of the night when the gang was intercepted. Three of the suspects were pronounced dead at the scene while two others managed to escape into a nearby bush. Police investigators recovered an AK-47 assault rifle and several rounds of ammunition from the scene of the incident.
