A devastating mining pit collapse in Bomiriso, a suburb of Konongo in the Asante Akyem Central Municipality, has resulted in the tragic deaths of three individuals. The incident occurred amidst extensive land degradation caused by illegal mining activities.
The victims, two women and a young boy, are all believed to be under the age of 30. The collapse has left a vast area of land severely impacted, highlighting the destructive nature of unregulated galamsey operations in the region.
