Several fishermen have been arrested for using dynamite to catch fish in the Volta Lake. This dangerous method pollutes the water and kills fish indiscriminately.
The arrests were made by district authorities. They found the fishermen engaged in the illegal act.
The use of dynamite for fishing is strictly prohibited by law. It causes significant damage to the aquatic ecosystem.
Those arrested have been handed over to the Ghana Police Service. They will face prosecution for their actions.
