The Savannah Regional Security Council and the Central Gonja District Security Council have officially condemned recent violence. This condemnation follows the deaths of two individuals in Damongo.

A mobile money vendor named Majeed Mahama was killed. Rashid Gbenchilige, a passerby, also lost his life during the incident. These events occurred at Damongo Junction.

Following the killings, attacks were launched against the Fulbe community. Homes and property belonging to the community were burned.

The joint security councils have stated that they will ensure justice is served. They vowed to bring the people responsible for these acts to justice.
