Police in the Awutu Bereku District have arrested a couple. They are accused of beheading their newborn baby and removing its left hand.
The incident happened in Awutu Bontrase in the Awutu Senya West District. This is within the Central Region.
The suspects are identified as Abena Benewa, 22, and Bright Ashiao, 26.
Authorities believe the pair may have intended to use the baby's body parts for money rituals.
The police command, led by Superintendent Edmond Nyamekye, made the arrests.
