The number of Ghanaians killed in a terrorist attack in Burkina Faso has increased to eight. This was confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The attack took place on February 14, 2026. Suspected jihadists carried out the attack.
Seven people died initially. One more person has now been confirmed dead.
The government plans to medically evacuate injured Ghanaians. They will also update travel guidelines for Burkina Faso.
The Ministry did not release details about the specific location of the attack.
The victims were Ghanaian traders. Their identities were not immediately released.
