Police in Ashanti South have killed two individuals suspected of armed robbery. The incident occurred along the Obuasi-Dunkwa Highway.

A gang of robbers was operating in the area. Police engaged the suspects, resulting in the deaths of two.

The command also reported arresting other suspected robbers in connection with the crime. Authorities did not provide details on the number of other arrests.

During the operations, police seized a Toyota saloon car. They also recovered guns and ammunition from the suspects, according to a police statement.

Regional Commander DCOP Joseph Hammond Nyaabah shared the information at a media briefing. The briefing took place in Bekwai on March 10, 2026.

The police statement indicated that the operation was part of efforts to curb criminal activities in the region.

Further investigations are expected to reveal more about the gang's activities and any other accomplices.
