Ashanti South police officers shot and killed two men suspected of robbery. This happened on the Obuasi-Dunkwa Highway.
The men were part of a group accused of carrying out robberies. Police were on patrol when they encountered the suspects.
During the confrontation, the two suspects were shot and died. The Ghana Police Service stated this action was taken during an operation.
Several other suspects were arrested following the incident. Police also recovered a Toyota Saloon car. Guns and ammunition were also seized.
Regional Commander DCOP Joseph Hammond Nyaabah spoke about the arrests and seizures. He held a media briefing in Bekwai. The date of the briefing was March 10, 2026.
