Two suspected armed robbers have been killed by the Ashanti South Police. The incident happened along the Obuasi-Dunkwa Highway.

This action followed the operation of a gang of robbers in the area. The police were acting on intelligence concerning their activities.

During the operation, several other suspects were apprehended by the police. The Regional Commander, DCOP Joseph Hammond Nyaabah, confirmed the arrests and the fatal encounter.

Law enforcement officials also confiscated a Toyota saloon car. Weapons and ammunition believed to be used by the robbers were also seized.

These items were presented during a media briefing held at Bekwai on March 10, 2026.

The police stated that the arrested individuals will face legal proceedings.

The recovered items are part of evidence in the ongoing investigation.
