Two suspected armed robbers have been killed by police officers in the Ashanti South region. The incident occurred along the Obuasi-Dunkwa Highway.
The police command also apprehended several other individuals believed to be involved in criminal activities. This operation aimed to disrupt a gang of robbers operating in the area.
During the operation, law enforcement officials confiscated a Toyota saloon car. They also recovered firearms and ammunition from the suspects.
The Ashanti South Regional Commander, DCOP Joseph Hammond Nyaabah, shared details of the operation at a media gathering. The briefing took place in Bekwai.
The Regional Commander stated that the two men killed were part of a group engaged in armed robbery. Their deaths followed an engagement with the police.
Further investigations are expected to uncover more details about the gang's operations. The seized items will be used as evidence.
