Two suspected armed robbers were shot and killed by the Ashanti South Police Command. This happened during an operation on the Obuasi-Dunkwa Highway.
The police also arrested two other individuals believed to be part of the robbery gang.
During the operation, authorities seized a Toyota Saloon vehicle. Guns and ammunition intended for criminal activity were also recovered.
The arrested suspects and seized items are now in police custody.
Regional Commander DCOP Joseph Hammond Nyaabah provided details at a media briefing.
The briefing took place in Bekwai on March 10, 2026.
The police stated that the operation aimed to stop the gang's activities. This gang was reportedly active along the highway.
Further investigations are ongoing to identify any other members of the criminal group.
