Political thugs disrupted the opening of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) secretariat in Bakassi Local Government Area, Cross River State. The incident occurred on Saturday.
The thugs were allegedly loyal to the All Progressives Congress (APC). They reportedly stormed the venue where the ADC was planning to open its new office.
Supporters of the ADC were dispersed by the attackers. The event was stopped.
Several items at the venue were destroyed. These included canopies and loudspeakers.
The exact motivation for the disruption is under investigation.
