Political thugs disrupted the opening of a new secretariat for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Bakassi. The incident happened on Saturday.
Witnesses said the attackers were allegedly loyal to the All Progressives Congress (APC). They stormed the venue where the ADC event was planned.
The thugs dispersed supporters of the ADC. They also destroyed equipment set up for the opening.
Damage included canopies, loudspeakers, and chairs. The full extent of the damage is not yet known.
The ADC had planned to officially open its new local government secretariat.
Authorities are investigating the incident.
