The incident happened at Me Na Ye Junction in Agona Asafo. The time was around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The victim is Ishmael Odoom. He is the Assembly Member for the Agona Asafo Electoral Area. He was with a friend.
Armed robbers attacked Mr. Odoom and his friend. They took an amount of cash from them.
The robbers escaped after the attack. Police have started an investigation into the incident.
The Agona East District Police are investigating the crime.
