The Ghana Police Service has removed unauthorized sirens, strobe lights, and beacon lights from 789 vehicles. This action took place during a two-day operation in the Western and Western Central regions.

The enforcement and public awareness exercise occurred on July 17 and 18. It was carried out in Sekondi-Takoradi and Tarkwa.

Police officers worked jointly during the operation. They targeted vehicles with illegal modifications.

The goal was to stop the misuse of sirens and lights. These are often used by unauthorized individuals and vehicles.

The operation also included public sensitization. This aimed to inform drivers about the rules regarding vehicle equipment.

The Ghana Police Service stated that such modifications are against traffic laws. They can cause confusion and endanger public safety.

Drivers found with these illegal items had them removed. Further actions may follow depending on the circumstances.

The police service is committed to ensuring road safety. They will continue to enforce traffic regulations across the country.
