Drivers who receive electronic traffic violation tickets have a 14-day period to respond. This period allows them to either pay the penalty or formally challenge the notice.

The announcement comes from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service. ACP Alexander Kweku Obeng, who leads the MTTD's Education, Research and Training unit, provided details on the new system.

This new procedure is part of Ghana's automated enforcement system, known as TraffiTech. The system aims to streamline the process of issuing and managing traffic violations.

Motorists will be informed of the specific steps required to contest a ticket. The MTTD is working to ensure clarity for all road users.

The implementation of TraffiTech is intended to improve road safety and traffic management across the country.
