The Ghana Police Service has announced that some roads in Accra will be closed on Friday, March 6, 2026. This closure is for the 69th Independence Anniversary Celebration.

The celebration will take place at the Jubilee House. This is a national event marking Ghana's independence.

Several important roads will be impacted by these closures. These include Liberation Road.

Liberation Road will be closed from the Opeibea Intersection to the Central Business District. This is a significant part of the city.

Independence Avenue will also see closures. The section at the Ako Adjei By-pass will be shut. Jawaharlal Nehru Road is also listed.

The Ghana Police Service stated that traffic will be restricted during the event. This is to ensure the safety and smooth running of the celebrations.

Normal traffic flow is expected to resume. This will happen once the Independence Day event has finished. Drivers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
