Accra will see temporary road closures on Friday, March 6, 2026. The Ghana Police Service is managing these closures.

The closures are for the 69th Independence Anniversary Celebration. The event is scheduled to take place at the Jubilee House.

Several key roads in the city will be affected. This includes Liberation Road. The closure will be from the Opeibea Intersection to the Central Business District.

Independence Avenue will also be closed. The specific point of closure is at the Ako Adjei By-pass.

Jawaharlal Nehru Road is another road that will be inaccessible. These measures are in place to ensure the safety and smooth running of the anniversary event.

The Ghana Police Service stated that normal traffic flow will be restored. This will happen once the celebration activities at the Jubilee House have ended.

Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly. They should expect delays and seek alternative routes.

The closures are a standard security measure for national events.
