Ugandan opposition leader Bobi Wine has announced he has left Uganda. He stated that he fled to escape threats and a military search.
Wine revealed his departure in a video posted on social media. He appeared unshaven in the video.
The opposition leader had been in hiding for some time before leaving the country. His claims follow the recent presidential election which he contested.
Bobi Wine was a challenger to longtime leader Yoweri Museveni in the election. His safety has become a growing concern.
