Taiwan's military has reintroduced 'anti-communist' patriotic classes for its graduates. The defense ministry stated this yesterday. It has been 25 years since these classes were last held.

The decision comes amid rising tensions with China. A senior official reported an increase in Chinese naval activity. This has led to renewed focus on national defense education.

These patriotic classes were common during the Cold War. They aimed to educate soldiers about the perceived dangers from mainland China. The government at the time referred to the mainland leaders as 'communist bandits'.
