The Public Utilities and Regulatory Commission PURC has introduced a new price for charging electric cars in Ghana. This is the first time such a price has been set.

The new charge is part of Ghana's plan to use more clean energy. It aims to encourage the use of electric vehicles.

Charging electric cars will now cost 201.6 Ghana pesewas, which is GH¢2.016, for each kilowatt-hour used. This price was announced by the PURC.

In addition to the per-use charge, charging stations will also have to pay a monthly service fee. This fee is set at GH¢500.

This new tariff is expected to help in the country's move towards greener transportation systems. The PURC is responsible for setting utility prices in Ghana.
