Ghana is moving to bring back public tribunals. This is intended to make the justice system work faster.
The Tribunal Bill 2026 has been presented to Parliament. It has already passed its first reading.
The Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Mr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, officially laid the bill before lawmakers.
These tribunals will deal with specific types of cases. These include economic crimes and environmental offenses.
Specialized criminal cases will also be handled by these tribunals.
The reintroduction of tribunals is a move to reform how justice is delivered in the country.
The bill has now been sent to a parliamentary committee for further review.
This change could significantly reduce the time it takes to resolve certain legal matters.
