The advocacy group The People’s Forum has submitted a petition to the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission PURC.
They are asking for an immediate suspension of any further increases in electricity tariffs.
The group also requested a thorough review of the current electricity charges.
This action is intended to ease the financial strain on Ghanaians who pay for electricity.
The petition was officially dated March 10 2026 and was sent to the Executive Secretary of the PURC.
The concerns raised by The People’s Forum are based on the financial difficulties faced by many households due to rising costs.
