Fred Kyei Asamoah, the Member of Parliament for Offinso North, has criticized the government’s decision to cut cocoa producer prices. He stated that this move is a betrayal of farmers. Farmers had supported the current administration based on promises made during campaigns.
The lawmaker urged authorities to consider establishing a special support fund for cocoa farmers. This fund would provide much needed assistance to the farming community. He believes this would be a better approach to supporting the sector.
