The Offinso paramount chief, Nana Dwamena Akenten II, has told the Minority Caucus in Parliament to become the voice of cocoa farmers. He expressed support for their efforts to highlight the challenges faced by these farmers.

The chief made these remarks on Sunday. This comes as the Minority MPs are undertaking a tour of cocoa producing areas in the Ashanti Region. Their visit is planned to last for one week.

The Minority MPs were led by their Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh. He also represents Nsawam-Adoagyiri in Parliament. The group engaged with the chief to discuss farmers' issues.

Nana Dwamena Akenten II urged the parliamentarians to use their platform effectively. He wants them to bring the concerns of the farmers directly to the attention of the nation through their parliamentary duties.

This initiative by the Minority Caucus aims to draw attention to the agricultural sector. It focuses specifically on the well-being and economic situation of cocoa farmers.
