The paramount chief of Offinso, Nana Dwamena Akenten II, has pledged his full backing to the Minority Caucus in Parliament. He has urged them to speak up for the interests of cocoa farmers.

This support comes as the Minority MPs embark on a week-long tour of cocoa-growing areas in the Ashanti Region. Their mission is to understand the challenges faced by these farming communities.

The chief encouraged the MPs to be bold in raising these issues during their parliamentary duties. He stressed the importance of representing the farmers' voices at the national level.

Minority Chief Whip and Nsawam-Adoagyiri MP, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, is leading the delegation. The tour began on Sunday.

The MPs aim to gather firsthand information on the current state of cocoa farming. This will help them to formulate effective policy proposals.

Farmers' welfare and the future of cocoa production in the region are expected to be central themes of the tour.
