Yaw Opoku Mensah, a communications team member for the New Patriotic Party, has accused certain media houses and civil society organizations of losing focus on the fight against illegal mining.
He stated that these groups have begun to politicize the critical issue of galamsey.
Mensah expressed surprise at the change, noting that some media outlets formerly reported on illegal mining differently.
The NPP member believes the urgency previously shown has diminished.
